The UA Foundation has several meeting rooms available for University-related events. For reservations use the online request form below.

Student Union Catering: (please select one)

*All food is to be catered by the Student Union. Food is not to be brought into the building by any other means.

NOTE: Contact name should be of the person responsible for the meeting. It is expected that the contact person will attend the function. By submitting this form, the contact person agrees to abide by all "Swede" Johnson Building room use policies described. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of future room privileges.

Room Scheduling Policy and Guidelines

All rooms available through the Foundation are pre-set and cannot be rearranged.

Submitting the online form does not guarantee your reservation; after review and approval an e-mail confirmation from UAF staff will be sent.

Rooms may be scheduled a maximum of 30 days in advance.

Only University events sponsored by a University entity and controlled by University personnel may be scheduled in the buildings. Involvement of University personnel does not necessarily make an event a University event.

Student events are not permitted in the buildings. This includes events sponsored by students or student organizations. Such events should be held at the Student Union or other appropriate venue.

Bumping policy: Reservations made by a department outside the "Swede" Johnson Building may be bumped in favor of a building resident's event. If this happens, every effort will be made to accommodate the event elsewhere in the building.

All food is to be catered by the Student Union (520 621-1989). No exceptions.

Building hours: The "Swede" Johnson Building and 1125 N. Vine hours are from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. See the policy below regarding security measures that must be taken if your meeting is to take place outside these hours.

Campus security: Any meeting beginning at or after 5 p.m., extending past 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, or which takes place on Saturday or Sunday requires the presence of campus security. It is your responsibility to reserve a campus security officer's time as soon as you have written confirmation that a room has been reserved for you. If campus security is unavailable, your room reservation will be canceled.

Parking: Parking is limited at the "Swede" Johnson Building. If your meeting has more than 20 attendees, please make arrangements with UA Parking and Transportation for additional parking. There is NO parking available at 1125 N. Vine. Please make arrangements with UA Parking and Transportation at (520) 621-3710.

No alcohol is served on campus without prior approval from the University president's office. To obtain a Request to Serve Alcoholic Beverages form, please refer to If approved, alcohol must be served by an approved licensed bartending service.

Other: The building switchboard operator/receptionist cannot provide clerical support or deliver messages to meeting rooms. There is no public copy machine in the building so please plan accordingly.
